How do you build a bridge between new and old ways of making?

Building Crafts College

Some skills are best learnt with your hands, not with a computer.
For Design Week, W+K partnered with BCC, a college who teach traditional methods of building and craft.

To celebrate the physical act of making, we showcased a different woodworking skill in the W+K window every day for one week, turning the space into a brightly coloured pop-up workshop.

Passersby could peer through the glass and watch as students carved bowls on a lathe or steam bent skateboards.

We shared short films of the makers and also held an exhibition for the students to display their crafted furniture.
